Does my recent clutch adjustment sound like its good for my gn250? |
i recently had her services and she sounds way better now. but they adjusted the clutch which is kinda annoying cos it was just how i liked it and now i have to let the clutch lever almost way out before it catches whereas before about halfway out it would catch and i could speed off. also sometimes esp when its like a hillstart or something..the engine almost sounds like its being rung out a little before the clutch catches. is this normal? i mean the bike shop people would know right. or would they? is this bad for my bike? sounds like it was better before it was adjusted go get it readjusted it doesn,t take long to do if it is not fully engaging the clutch (which it sounds like from your description) it will wear it out as long as it went into gear easy before there shouldn,t be a problem it needs to be adjusted where when you pull the clutch in it goes in gear easy and is not creeping off and when it is released it has a small amount of freeplay in it it always help to know how to do this yourself. here is where I learned, it is for the Kawasaki EX250, but it is pretty much universal. basic motorcycle know-how that every rider should know: http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/new_riders.... there is a whole section on clutches and transmissions, and will even tell you how to check everything. |
