Where's the best place to buy motorcycle tyres? (UK)? |
Tyre depot? Bike shop? Kwik fit????? I live in Bristol, want a new rear tyre fitted and don't want to pay any more than I have to for a reasonable tyre. Any ideas? Your local bike shop. You can usually get them a bit cheaper off the internet (places like black circles ot moto-tyres) but when you factor in the cost of having them fitted to the rims it rarely works out any cheaper. Afaik kwik fit don't do them but if they did they'd charge double the price for a tyre of half the quality. I understand your reluctance to pay any more than is neccessary but it is your only contact with the road, pay what you have to for the stickiest tyre you can afford mate. Buy a motorcycle mag, look up various places online, check out yellow pages, phone round and compare prices, but remember, that if you don't get them from somewhere that offers a fitting service, that you will have to fit them yourself, for which your will need all the right equipment, and may find it difficult to balance your wheels. Some places don't do bikes, some do, but are not good with them, best to go where they are used to bikes. try Strathearn Tyres. Your local tyre fitter will charge you about 拢10 to fit a tyre if you take the wheel and new tyre in. |
