How do I go by getting an SBA loan in Georgia for a small business? |
I have a business plan ready for a Bike Shop. Great. I need some points! SBA loans are just like regular business loans, with the exception being the government guarantees a large percentage of repayment to the bank if the borrower defaults. What that means to you is that you still have to meet the underwriting requirements of a traditional bank in order to be considered for this type of loan. The real fact of the matter is that you have to call a small business banker, tell him your plan and he will tell you right away what the likelyhood of the SBA funding your business will be. There are so many variables for these types of loans that some key questions will need be addressed before you'll have any idea of the likelyhood of financing. A sidenote: Small Business Bankers are usually brutually honest about the likelyhood of thier prospective customers getting financing. If they shoot you down right away, it isn't because they don't like you or they think your business won't be profitable. They just know the underwriting so well that they don't want to waste your time by beating around the bush and giving you empty hope.
