Are these tires a good choice? |
I have a 2004 specialized enduro that had stock 2.2 inch enduro pro tires. The bike shop recomended that I put on the new enduro pro's that are 2.4 in front and 2.3 in back. Are these tires going to slow me down too much, or just give me addded traction? if you are riding on pavement, then yes they will slow you down if you are riding off road, then they will give you more traction I like their Sworks pro for off road on my Stumpjumper Depends upon the type of terain. If tackling mud or sand, the larger tyres might be beneficial. However, I prefer the Panaracer Fire XC Pro1.8. This gives good traction and speed mix for XC work. Tried 2.1s and found that I lost too much speed. However, I tend to cycle bridleways and tracks in the UK. Spoke to someone who put these on his bike when he moved to Australia. Although great in the UK, they are not so good in the sandy outback and a larger tyre was better. So, tell us where you ride and what you do and we might narrow your choices. Luck |
