How do i react when my boss starts hacking?

i work at a bike shop where my boss (the owner) smokes (dont ask how those two go together). when he starts coughing, how should i react? this is my first real job so what ever i say or do is going to make an impression on him, and i dont want to be recognized as someone who is careless. i dont dont what i should do cuz i dont know anyone else who smokes.

when i mean coughing, i mean he is hacking away for such a long time that you might think that something is wrong.

Just ask him is he needs a heimlich and if he says no then move on.
There's nothing you can do about it. If you value your job, just try to ignore it.
act like you care and ask him if hes alright, say something along the lines of "you sound like your dying", either he will stop smoking or he'll do his coughing elsewhere
He may have emphysema or some other condition. There isn't much you can do. I would just continue on with whatever you were doing when he started. If he needs help, trust me, he'll let you know. I've known a few people with similar conditions.
Run up to him and SLAM him on the back as hard as you can!
I don't smoke, but I do have Irritable Airway Disease and there are times I hack, too. I have had people I work with give me a cough drop(MUCH APPRECIATED). And I have been Asked if I was alright, which I am, It just doesn't sound like it. You might suggest after a couple of times of witnessing this, Mucinex D.
I find this helps me a lot.
