Best places to learn how to work on motorcycles?

I've been interested in motorcycles for quite some time. My boyfriend acutally races them (roadracing) so I've picked up a bit from him. But if I wanted to learn in a more where's the best place to look? Do you think a local bike shop in the parts or garage?

College is certainly a good way to learn.

If you are just starting out and you aren't sure if it's really what you want to do or not, start to work at a motorcycle shop, or at least hang around one. I wouldn't hang around a dealership, if you work at a Honda store, you tend to only see Honda's. If you work at a Yamaha shop, you tend to only see Yamaha's.

It may be hard to find in your area, I don't know, but find someone, a good quality mechanic that works on everything. This way, you get a variety of knowledge.
