Where can i get small miscellaneous parts ofr my bike?

im looking for things like bearings for suspension pivots, cable guides, bushings for shocks, that sort of thing. i especially need a set of bushings for my fox vanilla rx, it doesnt quite fit with the older ones i have.

my shop wont order small parts like these because they will actually lose money special ordering them and its not worth it to buy a whole box of whatever just to use one. i was looking for a place online that sells things like that.

serious answers only please

Most of your Suspension Bearings are available locally, I would look in your yellow pages under bearing - You need to have the number off of the side ready to have them tell you if they have them.

Also, You can order Fox parts right from Fox Racing Shox's website. Air sleeve kits, dust seals and even oil!

Lastly - What kind of shop do you work for that they would make a comment like that - I special order dozens of parts a week. I deal with 4 venders and I don't understand this kind of shop mentality. We became Number One in the state because we go the extra mile... We order just enough to float us for a week, and we always order enough to get freight credit. This leaves it very easy to special order things and not have to charge a customer ANY shipping.

To say a special order looses you money is NOT RIGHT - We'd be shut down already if that were the case!

Just today - I had a guy come in from 80 miles away... he passes more than 15 bike shops to get here... just to take care of a warrantied Durace Shifter... Source(s): Bike Shop Manager - Top100 & Tennessee's Largest Trek Dealer

I had the same problem.

I have a 1996 Schwinn Homegrown Factory Suspension, and being a rare bike, it is dang near impossible to get them. However, I went to REI and the mechanic there recommended me to go to a nearby Schwinn dealer, and get it there. It worked.

Maybe there is a bike shop that deals specifically with your brand of bike, and they can take of you.
Good luck!

Example: go to google maps, zoom in to a 30 mile radius of your house, and type in "schwinn dealer."
Sounds like the guys at your local shop are either misinformed, lazy, full of crap, or a combination of all of these. Small parts like that can almost always be ordered in small numbers of 1. The bearings might be easiest to get from a bearing shop (just match the numbers), but any bike shop worth it's salt should be able to either order parts for your fork, or send it away for bushing/seals/oil service for around $100. Well worth it for your fork to feel like new again. I say it's time for you to try walking into a different bike store, and see if you get recieved differently.

If they don't have it, try the manufacturer's web site or call them directly and ask if you can order directly.
