I am about to buy a claude butler bike, i am new to the game do people sell fakes? |
the shop i am buying from has a rrp of 250 but will give me it from 180 why? Never heard of fake bikes. You do get good frames with inferior equipment but that is just a case of you get what you pay for.Anyway Claud Butler frames are good but not the Rolex of bike frames.I would expect someone to only consider faking top of the range frames like Bianchi.A reputable dealer would never sell a fake, he has too much to loose. 拢180 sounds good for such a bike if you are just starting, then next time you can choose the components yourself and custom build like I did.You might want to consider looking at second hand bikes in the Ad's in Cycling magazine.Nearly all the bikes are ex racing cyclists machines with very good equipment on and have been well maintained as well as often being near mint.these represent very good value for money. take someone who knows a bit about bikes with you before you buy.Good Luck. Source(s): Ex CC Breckland founder member. might be the last few of that particular model and the newer model will be displayed once all the old ones are cleared. They may also lie about the rrp to make you believe your getting a better saving than you really are. Probably I agree w/ t3h 1. You should canvass to another bikeshops for the price or if you have friends w/ a know how in bikes ask him for help. It could be a good bargain. But I would check around other bike stores to make sure. You could also check it out through web pages and the phone. Also, does claude butler have a web pago or a phone? Try this to start with: www.bikemagic.com www.evanscycles.com Last years model. Could be that they can not sell the frame size. Go to the CB site and have a look. Also try: www.paulscycles.com |
