How to get slacker husband to do things around the house? |
i have a 4 month old that i take care of, i do all the laundry, all the cleaning, all the bill paying, all the cooking whille my husband sits on his lazy but and plays computer games when he comes home from work. he works at a bike repair shop and on top of that in 4 weeks i am adding school into the equation. i have talked to him time and time again but nothing works, if i don;t pay the bills he wont pay them, if i leave him in charge of the money,we won;t have enough for formula or food because he loves to eat out. (by the way we are poor college students) i have screamed till i am blue in the face, he comes from a really rich famliy and his mother taught him to endulge himself with out thought of consequences of what happens when the bank account goes under, well they never had to worry about it. any tips. i honestly want to go on strike but if i do, not only will my home become a pig sty, but my credit will be ruined as well. HELP ME PLEASE hmmm, i think i would actidentally pull the power cord to the computer, actidentally wash mine/baby's clothes only, actidentally prepare food for me/baby only, etc.... my hubby is the same way. when he came home from work, he would take his shoes off at the door, pull socks off in the living room, take pants off in the bedroom and his shirt in the bathroom. i told him over and over, i was not gonna go from room to room gathering a grown mans clothes to wash. this went on for awhile til i got tired of it. finally when he got up for work one morning and didn't have any clean clothes, i made a believer out of him, lol... from then on, he usually washed his own clothes. the only thing i really asked of him during work week was to bathe our son and he would fuss over that. so, finally his night time fun was cut til he started helping by bathing our son. now when our son was born, he helped like crazey, but that died down after about 2 months. when i was preggy, he was amazing, i didn't hardly lift a finger tho i did have a concerned pregnancy. sometimes i think i should get preggy again so he'll help some, but i know where it'll go afterwords, lol... maybe you guys could set something up like he tends to the baby/house work for 2 hours after work while you have some time for yourself and after the 2 hours then he can have time for himself. right now with you being a new mom, you really should have some time by yourself. goto: www.thepayback.com Dont take this the wrong way lol. But stop being sexualy active with him until he starts to help. Cut him off for a week or two!!! Talk to his parents. if any one new the answer to this then they could sell it and be rich beyond their wildest dreams!! Here's my thing! if u stop doing stuff and slack around he'll start to notice that u stopped. when he confronts u tell him ur tired or doing it ur self, maybe he'll do some housework. if that doesn't work tell him ur not speaking to him until he cleans the house. or at least the kitchen! mabe this will give him a clue that he needs to help or nohing is going to get done! |
