91 kx 125 problems? |
I have a 91 kx125. I was riding it and it broke. When I tried to start it it had no compression. So I thought the piston was blown or something. I took it apart and there was a whole in the piston. I took it to a shop and they said the cylinder is scored and needs renicaciled(spelling), the crank bearings need changed, the rod needs changed and also need a new head and piston. It鈥檒l cost about $800 to get fixed. I was just wandering if I should just fix it, get it bored out and get stuff to fit an over sized piston. Or just get rid of it and get a newer bike? I definitely recommend an overbore. I had a 99 kx bored out to 144 cc; it made a huge difference. You have to get it nicasiled again anyhow so it wouldn't cost a lot more. with the cost of bikes where you live.. OH hang on we dont know where you live.... NO PROFILE INFO...Damb.. OK I can email & ask for some clarification...OH hang on dosnt allow email..Damb.. stuff it ....some one else can use there psycic powers today mine are gettin tired... allright I will answer.. buy a piston & fit it...bolt it back together.. It will run fine....put a colder plug in or tune the bike properly so you dont burn a hole in the piston again.. cost under a $100 dollars... I wish you people would stick some info on your profiles... Unless you can get away with a quick fix, I'd scrap it. Bike isn't worth more than $1200 running tip top. I'll be running a 91 KX125 top end in need of a piston and a cylinder hone on ebay in a few days. Keep your eyes peeled. |
