What do you think of the 2007 crf 250r? |
i am thinking about buying one and i wanted to know if it is a good bike for trails i am between and intermeadiate and a expert rider i love to go fast and hit jumps and race my friends or do you think crf250x would better suit me (i like duel the mufflers) and i am going for a honda because there is a close shop and my dad said eather honda or kawasaki I have an '05 CRF250R and I really like it. I have ridden many of my friends bikes, from various 250 2 strokes to 450 4 strokes and I haven't thrown a leg over anything yet that I like better. The R does fine in the woods, but if I were riding mainly woods I'd get the X model. I know what you are saying about the dual exhaust, it is cool looking but that fancy will pass soon. If you are going to spend $6000 plus get the bike that is going to work best for you. The R's suspension is going to be stiff in the woods and you'll shift more often than on the X. The X also has wider radiators to help keep the bike cool at lower speeds in the woods. By the way, most expert riders are removing the dual exhaust and opting for an aftermarket single. My cousin has a 06 Crf250f and it is awesome!! It is extremely fast and fun to ride. The 07's have a better carb and some other things too, which makes it even better. I read a review by dirt rider magazine (i believe) and they said nothing but positive things about the Crf250. If I was buying a new bike, I wouldn't hesitate to pick one up! It is quicker than many 250 2-strokes (until they get into their higher gears). It is a fun bike to ride, and doesn't mind mid or even low rpm's at all. The crf x has a wide ratio transmission which is a big help for trail riding. I had an RMX (90s) with the wr and it makes a big difference. MX bikes have a too-tall first gear and a too-low top gear. The bike has trouble when stuck in mud holes, and it revs out too quick on gravel roads. This is Hondas last year for the CR 2 Stroke so get one while you can. The entire CR line for the last 7 years is great. I picked up a 2002 for $1500 and love it. Go for the big jump in 5th gear and let us know what the landing was like!!! |
