Help!! am i sabotaging my diet?? |
I'm a 139-pound female, 5'6. I have to write a review on ice cream shops around my city for a newspaper, so I have to sample ice cream from five different shops. I feel so guilty already because I've lost 40 pounds so far and I want to lose more, and i'm scared this will make me gain weight! any suggestions?? will this be really bad for me, or will i be okay? i only ate 840 calories and 5 grams of fat today, and i ran for 45 minutes and biked for 25 minutes. will i be okay if i eat the ice cream? Sampling ice cream is almost tasting a scoop, and savoring the cup. Being healthy is eating healthy, resting enough and exercising enough. If you eat 3 scoops of same ice cream, then it is harmful. No one has prevented you from just tasting a scoop to test an ice cream. This is my thought, and take on reviewing ice cream shops. If I were you I'd personally do that, and will not worry about eating icecreams. As long as I have a discipline to just have one scoop of ice cream. I will choose to taste one shop one day, so that I am not going overboard with my calorie intake either. Don't worry too much, as too much worrying is not good for your health either. You will sky rocket your blood pressure, love yourself, see yourself as a healthy person, go for walks in nature, drink lots of water, eat lots of anti oxidant food, Grapes, broccoli, bok choy, etc.(Please stay away from lite drinks or stay lite drinks in a can...) Remember artificial food produces artificial effects. The choice is yours. Think of the times in the past where people have been healthy, they didn't drink Slimfast, or stuff like that. They did alot of daily exercise. Take a shopping bag instead of shopping cart, that by itself is an exercise. Best of luck. and have a loving, joyous icecream tasting experience. well as long as you go back to your diet after that then i'm sure you'll be fine, as long as you work it off. absolutely, one day doesn't sabotage a diet, just buy the smalls and don't finish them!! One day of "sabotage" won't hurt you. Just as long as you go back on the diet the next day... and stay strict with it. I am also on a diet. When this sort of situation arises, I go ahead and induldge in the treat, then I stay strict the following day and thereafter! Just take a small taste of each ice cream that you sample!!! Good Luck! Yes! A true diet factors in "cheating". As long as it is not going to be long term and the servings are small, you will be fine. By the sounds of your diet, you have factored in the calories in ice cream. Your daily calorie intake is low enough to offset the increased calories. you are just sampling ice cream, not eating massive amounts, so i think you'll be fine . . . however, you need to eat at least 1200 calories everyday, just for your body to perform its daily functions optimally . . . depending on your body, you probably need more than that (http://www.apexfitness.com/html/tools/fi... . . . if you are still trying to lose weight, as long as you eat 500 calories less than what you burn (through daily activities and exercise), you will still lose 1 lb/week . . .i'm not saying to junk food, but just eat more calories from healthy foods also, since you are consciously dieting, just enjoy the ice cream you "have" to eat . . . you are exercising and taking the steps towards being healthier and losing weight, you can afford to treat yourself! |
