Where can I find bottom bracket parts for my old French bicycle?

I need to find cups, and a bottom bracket spindle for an old French bicycle frame, that I am restoring. I already have a nice Sugino GS crank set for it.

I looked all over for you but all I could find were a couple of them on eBay. There is a Campy BB with a "Buy It Now" price of $50 and a Sugino for $80.

You'd be surprised how many old shops have them hanging around and don't even realize it. Call a couple local places and see what they have.

One other possibility that I didn't check. Contact College Park Bicycles or Proteus Cycles in State College Maryland. You might get lucky.

EDIT: Scott C- In the not-too-distant past bicycles had as many as 5 different and incompatible threads. BSC (British Standard Cycle) is what we use today, and there were also Italian, French, Swiss, and Whitworth. The asker needs a French threaded bottom bracket.

most new bottom brackets come as a sealed unit so you only need to buy it as a whole..... you can pick them up for as little as 拢10 and just get a bike shop to measure for the size you need!

I'd try Harris Cyclery (Sheldon Brown's company.) Here is the link:

Good luck with your project.

Hope this helps.
