Structures failing?

Identify an additional part of a bicycle that might fail because it has too little:

(other than the spokes, handlebars, tire, seat post, pedal bolt)

Tensile Strength

Compressive Strength

Shear Strength

Torsion Strength

If you mean the frame, it's lack of tensile strengths, because the frames are made out of a single network of hollowed steel tubings, welded at the connecting points, making the assembly fully rigid. The frame has total compression and shear reisistance strengths, and some torsion resistances have been added over the past few years with the addition of shocks. The shocks do not add tensile resistance strengths, though, but a new reinforcing system has been recently developed that can add this missing physical property to bicycle frames, buildings, car-bodies, and so on. The new technology is called Structural Strap-Nets, and add a continuous tension resisting strapping systems that can be placed and attached within the hollowed steel tubes.
